Connect 2HD from USB port
« on: December 21, 2013, 03:09:56 PM »

Hi everybody,
I am trying connect 2 or more HD or pen drives to DNS320.
I have one hub usb and I connect it to usb port from NAS and the  2HD and one pendrive are connected to usb hub.
But NAS only detect one of them and I dont know why?
I connect this hub in my computer and it works pecrfect. My PC Detects all devices connected in hub usb.
My question is: Is it pssible connect more than one HD in USB with USb hub  and The NAS detect these HD??
And These HD can connect as network drives in Windows?

Thanks a lot!!

I have installed fun_plug and when I type mount in telnet I can see that:

# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type ext2 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
squash on /usr/local/tmp type ramfs (rw)
/dev/loop0 on /usr/local/modules type squashfs (ro)
/dev/mtdblock5 on /usr/local/config type jffs2 (rw)
/dev/sda4 on /mnt/HD_a4 type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/sdb4 on /mnt/HD_b4 type ext3 (rw,data=ordered)
none on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/md1 on /mnt/HD/HD_a2 type ext3 (rw,data=ordered,usrquota,grpquota)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/sdc1 on /mnt/USB/HD_c1 type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other)
/dev/sdd on /mnt/USB/HD_d type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other)
/dev/sde1 on /mnt/USB/HD_e1 type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other)

For a start we have never tried to do that but have found that there are some USB sticks/pen drives that require a powered hub to work.  Maybe you require the same to do what you want.

If you are already using a powered hub then I think we can assume that the firmware has a single additional drive limit.
