There are newer versions of Shareport available and seems to fix or resolve some issues seen in older versions.

Update: 03/30/2013Reports SharePort working perfectly with Win8 / DIR-655 HW REV A2 and A4 running FW 1.35NA.
"Tested and currently using a HP Scanjet 5590 USB scanner successfully over wired and Wireless. Would like to note that there is no noticeable performance loss re: using the scanner locally vs. via shareport, so this is really a pleasant surprise."
