Security issue with media server

I have enable media server on my dns320l providing a sub folder of volume_1 but when using browser from i_pad I can browse the full disk even the USB where  fun-plug is installed. I do not have provide  any password, how can I protected my private data ?
This is due to the server running under the root account?
