DIR-632
hardware v A1
firmware v 1.03NA
Windows 7 x64 x32

hi guys. So i have a 632 for many years and would like to use the usb port on the back of it to turn my samsung laser printer into a wireless printer that i can access using my iphone. Is this possible?? if it is how do i go about doing so??

Currently when accessing the router thru the web interface under Tool/USB SETTINGS for the usb port, I only see two options: Shareport and WCN configuration, I have no other options such as Network USB etc as listed in the online help.

Can some one tell me if my router is capable of turning a wired printer into a wireless one what steps, software i need to install? I really do like the 632 and its 8ports i just want to utilize more of its features (USB access)

thanks.

Link>Welcome!

You'll need to connect the USB cable to the router and the printer while the router is off. Install Shareport on the PCs you'd like to connect to the printer. Ensure the printer drivers have been installed on each PC. Refer to the printers Mfr support for driver installation. Turn On the router and Yes, use the Shareport option on the router under Tools/USB settings.

hey thank you so much for the reply!

to clarify, i need to install shareport on all devices that will be accessing the printer (iOS and Android too)?

all devices need to have the printer drivers installed? do device manufacturers specifically make drivers for printing wireless or just use the drivers for pc printing?

I should install the most recent version of shareport for the dir-632 (version 4.0 i believe)?

thanks

Yes, SP would need to be installed on devices that are connecting to the printer. The versions listed here are for PCs only.

Yes install the most recent version listed in this forum...
