DNS-320 B1 Problems...
« on: December 12, 2013, 12:41:26 PM »

Hi,
I am a new DNS-320 B1 owner, currently experiencing a multitude of problems.

I currently have a single 3tb HDD installed, formatted using the CD app which worked okay. I can access the drive fine.

However the web interface is broken:

No HDDs show up in HDD info.
RAID configuration does not show/work.
Firmware update doesnt work.

HOWEVER:
After a restart all of this works fine for about 1 minute.
When it breaks, going to myfiles and accessing the volume restores the functionality for a few minutes. EDIT: Once the NAS has been on a while the volume disappears from MyFiles so the only way to get the HDD back in the interface is a restart, the volume is still connectable as a network drive.

What could be causing this intermittent detection of the HDD by the Management section of the interface?

Thanks!

EDIT:
Generally the functioning of the above seems to be intermittent, mostly following the restart rule explained above.
When it isnt working the blue spinning load wheel just doesn't appear on the hard disk info screen, firmware  upgrade apply button is greyed out etc.

When you say the web interface is broken what browser are you using?  Have you tried using another browser?

The fact the volume is available as a network drive tends to sat that there is a problem with how the operating system on your PC is set up.  What OS are you using as this information will, most probably, help someone resolve your problem because they have seen it before.

I have a similar problem with the web interface not working properly.

Bit concerned that no one has resolved your problem though!

I have been using Chrome, firefox and explorer

my 320 cannot detect any drives! No button on the firmware update either! Strange!

Did your issues start recently? I'm not sure if this is any way related, but the family of D-Link Cloud cameras and NVRs have been experiencing web UI issues with the latest Java 7 Update 51. Please see the following: Network Cameras - Lost "Live View" After Installing Java Version 7 Update 51

I only got the box today! Hard drives I got didn't work due to firmware but firmware can't go on. When I click on update firmware the apply button is highlighted for a brief second then it goes off? Weird huh!

I have tried installing it with my iphone and android pad as well as numerous other browsers including some old ones too! I dunno, I think I give up now and send the bloody thing back!
