Windows 7 and uPNP AV Mdeia Feature

DOnt know if anyone else has tried this but niether of my Windows 7 x64 boxes are capable of streaming from the DNS-323 AV server.  They detect the unit but when they attempt to connect they get an access denied error. 

My Xbox 360 however has no such issue and streams just fine.

Has anyone else used the RC and had similar issues?

I have to use the IP address to access my DNS-323.  This could be related to your problem.

that one is a chaced access setting, ran into that too ;)  If you are unable to access your DNS-323 byunc but you are able to by IP, you can either add username/password of your current logged in account to the DNS or flush the stored credentials on Windows 7.

I tried that one already unforuntately :(

I have to ask:  if you open up media player does it disocver your uPNP service on the DNS-323?  Does it work OK for you?

Never had a problem with the uPNP server.  Just the Samba shares.

The problem with this is that you need Windows Search enabled, which completely hoses my box.  I'm a developer with mega extra hundreds of thousands of files on my local system, and every time I turn on Windows Search, the @#%$ SearchFilterHost goes to 50% (2 Cores), and then eventually get's killed by Microsoft, and restarted.  This loop repeats until my box overheats or is turned off.

Pissing me off, this whole thing.

Same issue here.  The DNS-323 shows up in Media Player under Other Libraries, but I try to access anything it says "The remote media library did not allow the connection.  Please contact the device manufacturer for more information."  I suppose that's a step up from Media Player on my Vista box though, as Vista's Media Player doesn't list the DNS-323 at all...

I do have the UPnP server turned on, but as I don't have an XBox 360 or PS3 yet I can't really verify that it's working at all...

 the DNS-323 does show up in Media Player - but I'm not able to connect to it.

I believe that for the DNS-323 to work in Media Player, you actually need to install the X-PnP driver that D-Link gives.
I did not tried it myself because If I mostly use the DNS-323 to "serve" movies to my Xbox360.
If I want to see a movie on the computer I manually browse the shared folder in Windows Explorer and start the movie from there... and It works fine.
