we recently upgraded our systems to java version 45 since then every time we access our cameras on our web ( https://georgestrains.com/railcam/ )page we get the following error message:

What if anything do I need to do to correct this error or is this a DLink issue

I see this or a version of this with Windows 8 and Windows 7 in both IE 10 and Firefox 24.0. This also occurs if we go to the internal addresses on our network.

BTW this seems to be an issue with the 930L and 932L cameras as well.

Yup!  You used to be able to tell Java to trust the site but that seems to  have disappeared.

I'm seeing this on the DCS-931L, DCS-932L, and DCS-5020L as well, so it's not an isolated case specific to this model.

I just got the latest update to Java (Java 7 Update 51) and yes, the streaming app has completely failed to load now.

I opened a support ticket with DLink, and I hope they will release an emergency hotfix ASAP.  All they need to do is update their manifest with the proper permissions required to run the app (and then of course test etc...) but ideally this will be a quick effort.

The following procedure can be used to adjust the Java security exceptions in Windows after updating to the latest Java version.

• Open the Start Menu on the bottom left of the Windows Task Bar
• Expand All Programs and navigate to the Java folder
  
• Open Configure Java inside the Java folder
  
• The Java Control Panel will open in a new window
  
• Select the Security tab
  
• Press the Edit Site List button
  
• Press the Add button and enter the D-Link Cloud camera URL or IP address
  
• Press OK (Edit Site List window will close)
  
• Press OK (Java Control Panel window will close)
  
  

Note: Selecting Java from the Windows Control Panel may not provide access to the Edit Site List option on all PCs. The above navigation path must be used to access these settings.

make sure to add "http://" before your IP address in the Edit Site List

I've done that.  I also uninstalled and reinstalled java and then made the java suggestions you recommended.  I still get the error message "missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar:  Http://xxxx/aplug.jar"

I presume you are using IE? Are you using compatibility mode? If not, please try.

I was using firefox to try and view the Live Camera Feed.  But i figured out the problem. 

On my network, i can access my dlink cameras by WINS Name (http://cam1)  or IP address 192.168.1.xxx.  When editing the java control panel, "Edit Site List" I originally only listed the IP Address.  Then i would try and access the camera using the WINS name  " Http:\\cam1 ".  Accessing the camera this way would not work and would give me the error message.

To resolve the problem, I added into the java control panel, "Edit Site List", the User friendly WINS name (http://cam1).  With both IP Address and WINS Name entered into the java control panel applet, I now am able to view the live camera view feed.

The http:// requirement was previously listed on our FAQ post describing the procedure. I'm glad you were able to work things out on your own though
