We have 6 cameras running at present (2 destined to go to another location) - 4 are DCS-930L, 1-932, 1-931
All are set for ftp upon motion detection, plus one daily email. Setups are as identical as possible.
All of the cameras are pretty much inactive - yet, my (NetGear) router's log shows runs of entries like the following, with sequentially increasing numbers, apparently caused when a camera control panel is accessed via web browser to read its' settings:
[LAN access from remote] from MyWANIP:63617 to MyLANIP:port, Wednesday, Feb 12,2014 14:10:30

All cameras are set, in Network Setup/UPnP Settings, for UPnP Enabled, UPnP Port Forwarding Disabled.
The router is set for the port forwarding, but only (the oldest) 4 cameras appear in that UPnP Portmap Table. ...
We are using Mac computers, and iPad, no Windows. What is the function of the UPnP operation?
Does anyone know what may be going on here?
