I recently got the DIR-850L router and when I attempted to set up QOS, I noticed that the setting and options shown at the manual here ftp://dlink.com.sg/DIR-850L/DIR-850L_A1_Manual_v1.00%28EU%29[1].pdf


is totally different and more advanced than mine, which is similar to the one reviewed at this website. http://www.blacktubi.com/review/d-link-dir-850l-review/



It is the same model but the QOS setting described in the manual is so much more advanced than the one available to me now, which only allow prioritization of device without regard to type of traffic or application. Anyone here know why ? has the setting been removed, simplified (dumb-downed) in new firmware version of the device ? If so, is it possible to restore the old, advanced setting firmware ?

• What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
• Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
• What region are you located?

The first picture is the UI example of a Rev A or old UI web page. The bottom picture signifies that you have a Rev B model and thus using the newer generation UI.

The last model router to use the old UI I believe is the DIR-866L. All newer model routers and Rev B models have the newer simplified UI now.

I am not so concerned about the UI. I am more interested in the advanced option for QOS. I am from Malaysia, which should be under South Pacific Region, or Southeast Asia region. is it possible for me to restore old option by installing the old firmware before the revision ?
