Which IP to use for DDNS
« on: January 13, 2010, 04:02:20 PM »

Hello, everyone, thx for taking the time to look at my post. I have a question and not sure what forum to ask it in so please for give me if I double post. I am trying to setup an FTP server using dir-655 and the DNS-323. I think I have things setup ok but I am having a problem. First off I use clear wireless as my ISp. The modem has an IP address (DHCP) and assigns the IP for the router and the router assigns IP for the DNS-323. I would like to use dyndns.com (I have an account).

Which IP do I use for dyndns.com? The IP for the ISP's modem (let's say it's 199.222.0.15), the IP for the router (let's say it's 199.222.0.1) or the IP for the DNS-323 (let's say it's 199.222.0.21)? My current setup is forwarding the port using "virtual Server" on the DIR-655. DHCP o the DNS-323 is off and a static IP (for the DNS-323) has been assigned on the router. Also DDNS on the DNS-323 is disabled. Please help! thx
