Please Help - Attaching DNS 320 to my LG Smart Tv
« on: April 06, 2014, 11:56:46 AM »

Hi guys,

I'm a bit of a noob to this kind of thing but I'm trying to link my DNS-320 2 bay storage NAS to my LG Smart TV.

The TV comes with an application which I believe uses DLNA connection called Smartshare.  I can't for the life of me get the TV to see my Dlink 320 despite the fact that its attached to the network and is plainly visible in the network section of my computer on my laptop.

I can stream movies to my laptop over the network without a problem but I'd much prefer to be able to do this to my big screen.

Could anybody advise on how I go about this?  Is it likely to be a tweak in the NAS network settings or an issue I chase via the LG TV?

Many thanks in advance

Hi John

I had the same problem with my TV, which is an LG Smart TV model 47LW5700-SA. So I solved the problem partially for movies and not for music files using Twonky Server DNLA, see tutorials on how to install this app on your DNS320 on the internet. You will need to install the package foz_fun_plug, so remind me. I believe this to be a bug still unresolved by LG. I used the tutorial in Portuguese, and I belivie don't is right for you.
