In reality, these forums only have the "problems" that users get with the routers.  No one seems to ever post a message stating that they never have problems.

Each user will have different experiences, be them good or bad.

Mata,

Did you actually try the router?  As the previous poster pointed out the great majority of users have no issues at all.  It's usually the experimenters, those (unfortunately I tend to be one of them) who jump on every new software/firmware update and damn the consequences.  For the posted updates, D-Link has warned (in red lettering) that the update can't be reversed.

You might have discovered you, probably like many thousands of DIR-825 users, would be perfectly happy with the device right out of the box.  That said, I updated to V 1.10 of the furmware and haven't had any issues at all.  Others, obviously, have.

BTW have you ever checked out a forum for whatever car/motorcycle/truck or even computer you own?  If you did you'd have returned them too.  Again, as previously mentioned, people happy with their purchase tend not to post.

Cheers

I believe the 1.11 firmware is a mess.  I got another and stuck with 1.01.  It's been up for over 13 days without issue. Gaming, HD video streaming across the network, P2P file apps, and the internet have been solid.

I had a Linksys gigabit N router with storage port, the WRT350N.  I kept losing the connection to the router, or connection to the inernet through the router, or both, it was very frustrating.  I tried several firmware upgrades, but nothing helped the problem.

I bought a DIR-825 about a week ago and put it online.  It's been very stable, with no disconnects.  We have 3 computers and a XBox360 all connected to the 2.4 Ghz N channel, which I set to channel 1.  I also have a D-Link wireless media adapter that is connected to our TV in the bedroom to stream movies from our Windows Home Server.  I also watch some movies online via NetFlix.  Everything works great.

One thing that my wife and I both noticed is that the internet was way faster using the D-Link router.  Her computer is wired to the router along with the Home Server and the other computers are wireless.  My wireless connection shows rates varying from 160 mb to 300 mbps.  I have no idea why the D-Link is so much faster than the Linksys, but it is.

We are using a Comcast Business internet connection, with download speeds of 12 to 15 mbps and upload around 2 to 2.4 mbps.

I'm using the older 1.01 firmware?  I haven't looked to see what the upgrades are in the newer versions, but as long as this thing works this good, I don't think I need to upgrade

One reason why there may not be as many posts about the 825 is that there is no direct link to the forums under support for the 825.  The 625 and 655 both have nice big links to the beta forums.  825 has no mention of the forums so people don tknow they exist
