Is scheduled backup from a DNS320 to a Freecom Networkdrive possible ?

For a few days now I have a DNS320 to use as a main NAS while demoting my old Freecom Network disk (single disk 400 GB) to a second NAS.
I would like to have the contents of the DNS320 synchronised with that of the Freecom by means of a backup schedule.
Of course I can do this manually by means of a sync-tool, but I prefer to have this automated.
Main question is: is this technicallyions possible ?
Can the DNS320 and the Freecom communicate ?
What would be the preferred way to backup, Local or Remote ?
I already tried some options but to no avail.
