Ok here's the situation, I have a Corporate Network that internally uses the Class C subnet. The IPs are 10.0.0.xxx, I have an IP adrress asigned to the DIR-655 router on this network. This router is used in a room where the Sales People can log onto our LAN. We currently are running an older 10/100 DLink router in this room, and it is working great, but we are upgrading the entire infrastructure to 1Gbps.
How do I configure the DIR-655 to see the 10.0.0.xxx network? Do I need to set the DNS settings on the router? This router is just being used internally, but we use a 10.0.0.xxx gateway to the Internet.
The router is within the network, I cannot get it to recognize our 10.0.0.xxx IP addresses. After configuring the router I should be able to map a network drive on a local PC to 10.0.0.xxx (where xxx = an integer for the 4th octet) and expect that mapped drive to be accessible, but at this point I have not figured out how to do that. I know how to do it on a LinkSys, but this new DLink is giving me fits. I have been working on this for a few days now (too much time to allocate to one project). I am wondering if the DIR-655 is even capable of doing what I want.
