I bought an HP DV5 laptop computer a few months ago, along with a D-Link DIR-625. The network has always been a little bit shifty in that the laptop stays connected to the router but when large amounts of transferring occur (downloading from internet or transferring data between my laptop and desktop connected to the router--desktop via cat5 directly out of the router and laptop wirelessly).
The solution has been to either restart the laptop or to close the screen (temporarily hybernating it?) and then opening it again... I'm assuming that it reconnects to the network. I can't use the Windows Network and Sharing Center as it says it can't reconnect.
I'm fairly sure that this problem isn't of the laptop as I work at the store I purchased from and I haven't heard this problem from anyone else who bought the same laptop.
I am willing to provide any information from the box of the router as is necessary, I'm just wanting to fix this problem so that I don't have to put up with this bother. I can't play online games or transfer large files because the network cuts out and the transfers just drop and freeze. Please help!!
