I reset the D-LInk DIR-890L to factory settings, and set it [DIR-890L} up using the Set Up Wizard via (ethernet cable connected directly from my iMac to the DIR-890L / ethernet cable connected from INTERNET PORT to the Motorola cable modem). The Set Up Wizard worked well and I had no issues.

I set up IP address reservations for some of the devices in my home network prior to changing from the default Wi-Fi settings. All reserved IP addresses were saved without any problems. I was able to drag devices to open QoS boxes and SAVE, but it didn't keep the devices in the QoS boxes. I changed the default WiFi settings to my personal WiFi settings, and all devices with reserved IP addresses connected without any issues. I once again tried to drag devices to empty QoS boxes and SAVE, but it didn't keep the devices in the QoS boxes.
On Friday, during the very first DIR-890L set up process, I was able to drag one device (MacBook Pro Retina) to the QoS box and actually SAVE it. Not sure how that happened, or why it happened. It actually worked like it's suppose to.

Interestingly, I believe I only had my iMac and MBP Retina connected to the 890L (no other devices - wired or wireless). I'm wondering if that might have something to do with why it saved in QoS
Overall, I'm very happy with the performance of the DIR-890L

Definitely an upgrade from the DGL-5500 IMO.

Looking forward to the next Firmware update, and if you come across any beta firmware, let me know and I'll be sure to help test it out
