I have a 816L HW: B1 running 2.03. My guest zone DHCP pool is filling up and I can't find a way to reduce the lease time. The DHCP settings under network settings are set for 120 minutes but the logs show a lease time of 7 days

syslog: DHCP: Server sending ACK to 192.168.7.137. (Lease time = 604800)

There's also no place for me to see the DHCP leases in the guest zone.

This router doesn't support any advanced settings for Guest Zone. It On or Off and I presume that lease time may only effect LAN side and non Guest Zone connected devices.

This is being used for a business, more specifically an athletic facility.

How many devices are appearing to use GZ?

At peak times we have 200 individuals or more, some with multiple devices. Quite honestly, I don't really care about the guests' connectivity. My clients (~6 users) experience issues at peak traffic times when all these kids are coming and going. I've given the employee workstations static IP assignments and configured QOS to provide them highest priority. Everyone else gets stuck with best effort.

For my next trick, I was thinking of blocking certain protocols. I expect all these stupid data hungry background apps are clogging our tubes.

Oh lordy. Thats alot for this ilttle router to handle. Ya, thats not a good enthronement for this kind of router. This router is meant for home use and has a limited number of connections for connected clients that it can handle and I presume that 200 is probably way beyond it's handling abilities. Probably maxing the router out entirely. 

I recommend that you get on the phone with D-Link sales and or support and ask them what kind of wireless AP, probably a Business class DAP and a Business class router, i.e DSR series, that would best fit your needs. You may need to get two APs possibly to help handle all of the connections and devices. Tell them of your environment and network needs. Yes you may have to spend some money to get into the correct HW, however, you'll be better off using the correct HW for your network and environment needs and your customers will be happier I presume.

Kinda fell off there for a while 

I hadn't considered connections, but you're right that would certainly overload the little guy. The worst part is I know the kids aren't actively using the Internet, it's just their data hungry apps that push and pull down useless updates including hashtags, snaps, etc.

Get off my lawn!!! *shakes fists*
