This is the most confounded software I have ever seen. Almost impossible to figure it out.
I've got it configured mostly I think. But since I can't get video, I must have something wrong.
1) Does this software record actual video somewhere?
2) I have it configured to save to an external drive, and verified that something is saved there. So the software is pointed in the right storage area.
3) But when I look at what is recorded, I don't see anything that remotely looks like video
4) I see folders created that match the date.
5) I see the contents that match the time.
6) But the files are *.dat files and not nearly large enough to be video
7) When I execute the playback function, it plays some jerky still images, that best I can tell, are only frames with motion. I do not have motion detections enabled. I do not have the "general motion" box checked.

I have all three of my D-Link cameras on, with D-ViewCam scheduled to record ALWAYS, for the entire day, and I'm getting no recorded video anywhere that I can see. Even if I bring up the video playback, it doesn't find any video now. This is some real bad software, from what I can see. My cameras all work, I can see the video on the display but nothing is being recorded. I have a path set for storage, the folder was created but no videos. Very frustrating software and ZERO usable instructions.
Does D-ViewCam record actual video?
Is there some setting that needs to be checked or unchecked, to save a video file?
PS: This forum seems to have almost no responses. Anyone know why?
