Dynamic DNS error
« on: June 19, 2015, 04:57:02 PM »

I think it was April that I posted about inputting a custom dns service and found that you can. I went with ChangeIP and had it working immediately.  Now there is an error showing in my set up screen that Host Name is Invalid. It appears to still be reconciling as far as the logs in ChangeIP but bothers me that the error is displayed. Due to the seldom correct date/time I'm wondering if that may be contributing to this.
Any thoughts on what the router could be thinking is invalid? Maybe from some response it gets from ChangeIP server even though it connects?

I got to thinking about the timing of a few events that may have caused this. I upgraded to the beta 2.12 in early March. Made the change from dyndns in April. All showed as being fine. Now seeing the host name is invalid. Maybe introduced in the beta? It initially showed as synced and up to date with these settings.

Got it working. Just checked the results log of updates at changeip.com and saw that their program signed in with several switches. Copy and pasted into the router field and rebooted. Now shows as updated.

If I remember correctly I have to post link to pics. I don't subscribe to any of those services.
