port forward/DMZ is not working in Dlink DWR-710
« on: June 23, 2015, 02:32:42 AM »

I am just beginner in networking. I want to share a local website in xampp on internet via dlink home wifi adapter DWR-710. So anyone can access my local website in internet using my public ip address. it just found by 'www.whatismyip.com'
I have done following for this.
I configured the DMZ Host:-
Step 1: Type in the default IP address of the router in browser (default IP is 192.168.0.1)
Step 2: Log in using the router 's username and password
Step 3: Clicked on Network->NAT->DMZ option.
Step 4: In the DMZ Settings, checked 'DMZ Enable' option. Entered the my computer's IP Address that I want in the DMZ (192.168.0.100).
Step 5: Click on the Apply Settings button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6: Rebooted computer and dlink-modem with the new settings.
But doesn't happened while i am trying this..."http://mypublic_ip_address/xampp/"   . Still I didn't get local website. Pls help me for getting this.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Does the DWR have any Virtual Server or Port Forwarding features?

1. Hardware version: B1
2. Firmware Version: 2.0.4IN
3. Region is India->Kerala;  ISP- idea internet network
DWR have no Virtual Server feature and Port Forwarding.Only DMZ options is there. But it couldn't workout properly eventhough it is enabled. If you give me your email id I w'll send routers admin configuration screenshots. Is it possible to share my local website using public ip address in any other way.?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
