Two DCS-5222L on the same network
« on: October 22, 2015, 12:29:07 AM »

I bought 2 DCS-5222L recently.

At first, when I plug in my first DCS-5222L, everything works perfectly with UPnP being turned on.
I could view my cam via mydlink website.
I saw it need to access port 80 and 443.
This is not a problem at that time.

Few days ago, I bought an additional cam.
Yet, when I view the cam via mydlink website, it disconnect me every 5 mins.
According to the info from this forum, the cam was in proxy mode and the streaming was being passed to dlink servers first before going to me.

(I had different ports being forwarded to the 2 cams respectively. But nothing work.)

I wish to ask:
1. Is there anyway to have both camera working well with mydlink without the need to going to the proxy mode?
2. I am going to change my ISP. The new one will have port 80 and 443 blocked. The UPnP will fail as the port is being blocked. Any workaround on this?

Thanks a lot.

Use other ports and port forwarding in your router. Log into the cameras firmware to manually configure.

Besure that uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding is enabled on both cameras.

Here are my clarifications:
1. Everything, including mydlink, work fine when I only have 1 cam.
I don't have to change the default port for http / https / RSTP.
The UPnP port forwarding is disabled.
Only the UPnP presentation is enabled.

2. After adding an extra cam, only 1 cam works with mydlink.
The other cam will only connect with proxy mode, which will be disconnected every 5 mins.

3. Later, I changed all the ports mentioned above, with UPnP port forwarding enabled.
But nothing changed.
I had no camera with port 80 / 443 being configured.
But when I see the UPnP log, it will still connect to the 80 / 443 ports.

So, I wish to know:
1. Why are port 80 / 443 is still being used by UPnP?
2. Anyway to avoid the use of the port 80 / 443?
3. Anyway to allow connecting to mydlink without using proxy mode?

Thanks a lot.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

Also be sure to set a static IP address ON the cameras as well. I recommend using 192.168.#.52 and .53.
uPnP and uPnP Port Fowarding should be enabled on both cameras.
No Port Forwarding configurations are needed on the main host router.

I am using cable to connect to my cams.
And I assigned fixed IP according to MAC address already.
Router is TP link 1043nd, but flashed with DD-Wrt.

Also UPnP and UPnP forward enabled. (Not normal port fforward and UPnP forward has higher priority than normal port forward in DD-Wrt.)

Seems like this maybe a configuration issue.
Port Forwarding should not be enabled or doesn't need to be configured on the router. Only item needed is uPnP on the router and uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding on the cameras is needed.
