not all media showing up

I have the dns-323 (from here on referred to as the 323) and the dsm-750 (referred as the 750).  when i try to access the files and folders that are on the 323 with my 750 i am unable to see them all.  but if i access the 323 from the computer i am able to see and play the missing files. 

for example

my media->video->folder->dns-323_share->volume_1->TV->wipeout->season 2->

Wipeout.S02E01 is missing but Wipeout.S02E02 to Wipeout.S02E05 appear and can play without a problem

deleting Wipeout.S02E01 and re-adding it to the folder will make it reappear-why does this happen

my media->video->folder->dns-323_share->volume_1->TV->burn notice->

season 1 and season 3 will appear but the season 2 folder and the episodes for season 2 do not show up.  if i move season 2 into the season 1 folder i can access and play all the episode-why does this happen

thanks in advance for the help-i tried calling d-link technical support but the technical support rep did not understand my issue fully.
