Access Controls fails on restart
« on: June 01, 2015, 07:41:18 PM »

Have DIR-825 setup for my local network.

I've setup some rules within Access Control section. But whenever a routers restarts, the sections are not in affect.
I do see all the access rules I've setup before, they stay. They just do not apply.
If I go in, rename (change ANYTHING), save the settings. Router takes 15 seconds to save/setup and then the control are in affect.

In other words, if the router gets restarted anyhow, I have to re-save all my previously Access Controls rules one-by-one for them to start working.

So, the question is, why is that the settings are there, but not in affect on restart?

Any idea?

Thanks

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Can you post screen captures of your Access control and scheduling configurations?  Adding Screenshots In A Post

Router Access Control, Blocking, Web Filters and Scheduling FAQ
To set up scheduling:
1. Reserve device IP addresses ON the router under Setup/Networking.
2. Set up a schedule under Tools/Schedule on the routers web page. Customize your dates and times here.
3. Use Advanced/Access Control configured and apply the customized schedule to a policy and to the PC(s) or device(s) desired to be controlled.
4. Ensure Time is set correctly on the router. Tools/Time.

I do believe Setup/Networking/DNS Relay and or Setup/Internet/Manual/Advanced DNS Services need to be enabled along with configuring Reserved IP addresses, Scheduling, and Access Controls.
