Running DNS-320L on it's side

Hi, and Merry Christmas to you all!
I wonder what people's opinions are regarding running the DNS-320L on it's side?
I have tested the unit like this for the past 2 hours and there are no changes in terms of temperature. My NAS is only used for the continuous recording of 4 IP security cameras on 2x 3tb WD Reds.
Ambient room temperature is 25 degrees. System temp is stable at 96F/36C, and both disks fluctuate between 95-96F/35-36C. Fan is set to run at maximum.
Is there any other technical reason why running the ShareCentre on it's side would not be recommended?

After 2 days it seems to be running sweet. Cooling is as good as in the upright position, so I'm gonna leave it as is. The one sidenote is that I fitted a different fan a while back, so I'm not sure how cooling would be in a standard model in this position.

There is only one thing I would add, get some self adhesive rubber feet to stick on down side.  They will raise the side from what it is resting on and assist with external air circulation in that side so preventing the 'down' drive getting hotter than the 'upper' one.  Also try and monitor individual drive temperatures because the internal air circulation is now different (heat rises).

Good points Ivan. I did actually put some little self adhesive feet on the down side, which raise the NAS about 5mm. It wasn't for the sensible reason that you suggest though, it was more the fact that I didn't want to scratch the unit up when laying it on it's side!
In terms of drive temps, you're absolutely right. Disk 2 is running at 35C and disk 1 at 36C so I assume it's for the reason you suggest, although off the top of my head I'm not sure which is the upper disk until I physically check. I think that the 80x80mm fan that is running at all times is literally sucking the warm air right out pretty good.
Overall, i'm really happy with the temps, though.
