How to share a picture over the internet
« on: January 19, 2016, 05:28:37 AM »

Hi.
I would like to send a link from my 320L to my clients without given them the option to modify the link and explore my folder.
with ftp this link work fine but if you cut the "IMG..." you can explore the directories.
ftp://user:password@149.50.125.198/Volume_1/IMG_0802.JPG

Second option that I tried was to open the picture with "sharecenter" and copy the link.
2 problem:
1)I couldn't understand the link structure - looks like token is in it.
2)The link was invalid after some time with error "gone" or somthing similar
example of link from "sharecenter":
http://149.50.125.198/sdownload/58fd603d2c2e715f9e465826c2b69dec/52787c47/HD/HD_a2/IMG_0802.JPG
58fd603..... looks like token.
Can you please provide sulotion - it is very important.
Kalman.

For a start you should never allow outside access to the root partition (Volume_1).

Read the manual section about setting up users and groups.  You should be able to setup a user that has only access to a particular folder with that and the root directory protected by different user/password combinations.  With that folder setup, move your pictures there and make that folder available to your clients by giving them the user/password for it.  That way the pictures are available but the remainder of your data is not.
