Serious password issues
« on: February 19, 2016, 11:53:29 AM »

Newbie here, so hi to all :)

I've had my sharecenter for a good few months linked to my BTHomehub3. All was well for months..
Last week I changed to a BTHomehub5, but all of a sudden my device doesn't want to work anymore.

I've formatted and reset it about 5 times now, but every time I get to password, it will just not recognise the password I have set..
I've reset the device a few times, but nothing works :( :(

I don't know what to do next, as I need to put all my files back onto the device..

I know it's connected as I can access it through mydlink http link, but I need acces to it via my computer as a useable drive, which doesn't work

Thanks

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the DNS.
Clear all browser caches.

Seems similar to the current issue I have but to save time explaining let's see if this works

Try  no password (leave it empty or delete anything already entered)

If this works then pm me but also comment here
