DNS-320L Problens using windows explorer (win7)
« on: May 27, 2016, 02:48:48 PM »

Dear all,

I have been using my DNS-320L device with basic functions and usually copying files from win7 to device using windows explorer with no problems.
Since yesterday, I have noticed that for some reason I am unable to copy files to/from device from win7 explorer. When I try to do it, it takes lots of time and I get a system message that device stopped answering.

While trying to troubleshoot, I have made some tests and tryed to download files from/to device using the web based "My Files" application shipped with device and everything runs fine. I am abble to upload/download files from device using "My Files" app.

I also tryed to run some "Disk Management" utilities and everything seems to be fine.
Also, I can ensure that the disk is correctly mapped into the system.

My device information:
- MODEL: DNS-320L
- FIRMWARE V.: 1.03 from 09/04/2013 (I am affraid to update it since I have lots of data into the drive)

Any ideias on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much

Regards

Paulo

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

7x32 or 7x64?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Does a different PC exhibit the same thing?
Disable any PC security SW while testing.
Is the DNS getting a dynamic IP address or a static IP address from the main host router?
I presume if the MyFiles app works fine, then something on the PC is doing something.
Might try booting the PC into Safe Mode with Networking and test.
