I've got a DIR-615 I want to attach to an existing Netgear DSL/Cable modem+router+firewall.

I followed the automated install and it seems to work. I can get to a NAS drive attached to the original router via the 615 Wireless and from a PC wired into the the original router. From both I can web browse with no problem.

However, if I try streaming Intenet radio, or movies from the NAS drive to the PC, and then connect wireless via the 615 the streaming fails. If I turn off the 615 and restart the streaming it works fine.

So I guess I need to reconfig the 615; I've got the product manual from the support website and page-10 has some useful steps and I'll try those later. I wondered if anyone had seen a complete guide, ports to use on the 615 etc.

For example, do I run a cable from the  "Internet port: to the existing router or from a LAN Port ?

Is it ok for the 615 to have a 192.168.0.1 address range, while the existing router has a 192.168.1.1-10 range ?

Your glitches are probably do to the fact that you are double NATing with two subnets. NAT stands for network address translation. Going though two routers causes double NATing. What I would try is logging into the Netgear and look for a setting that puts it in bridge mode. This will disable the router portion of it. The D-Link will then get a public IP on it's WAN port instead of the private IP address. You don't need or want two routers. The other option is to log into the D-link router and disable its DHCP server function. Then connect the cable that comes from the Speedstream to a LAN jack instead of the WAN jack. The D-link will work as a switch not a router. The PC's will then pull an private IP address from the Speedstreams router. Shareport might not work this way though.

Thanks, disabling the DHCP function on the D-LINK and attach the cable from the Netgear to a LAN port seems to have done it. At least at this point everything seems to be working.

Thats probably the better of the two options. Bridging the Speedstream would have likely messed up the operation of your NAS.
