Hello, I have a problem using AIM and my new DIR-615. Without using my router, AIM has a constant connection. With my router, AIM loses connection and reconnects about once every 10 minutes. Does anyone know what could be the problem? And it's also not my internet because I'm playing an online game (CS:S or Counter Strike Source) while AIM is disconnecting and the game still keeps the connection.

If I use aim through meebo it's completely fine.. but I'd rather use the client.

Having the same problem over here. I know it's a timeout issue, but I don't know if/where to change the related TCP/UDP settings. Which I've heard solves this problem with various routers and hope would solve it with this model. It works perfect except for this.

Sorry a bit late. I'd still ike the problem to be solved. I know my friend has an older version of the 615 and his aim connection is fine.

Look through the connection settings and see which port it is using. I think its randomly generated. It changes with your version. Look on the support forum for AIM. Also, check here on AIM's support site.

Also, you might want to look into other clients. AIM is bloated as frak. Try out AIM Adhack or Pidgin.

I'm using Pidgin (2.7.11) and am experiencing the exact same problem of it disconnecting every 10-15 minutes. My router is DIR-615 rev. D3 with firmware 4.11 (latest at the moment) installed. I should also mention that this happens on the PC that is connected to the router through ethernet and this does not happen when the internet cable is connected directly to the PC.
Can we get any answers regarding this issue, as it seems to not be limited to a single client.

Try using a different program? Digsby is a good one. Does this happen if you use the AIM client as well?
