Hello, my problem is as follows: every day I have to restart my hardware because the internet connection suddenly dies right in the middle of something.
Setup:
internet provider - AT&T DSL
router - DIR615 (rev A1, firmware ver 1.10)
(new) modem - DSL2320B (rev A, firmware ver 2900)
The router had worked fine for the past ~2 years with the (now defunct) AT&T-provided Motorola modem, but the connection keeps dropping with the new modem. This is extremely frustrating since you'd think two D-link products would work seamlessly together—especially since the router was nothing but dependable when it was hooked up to the old modem.
Modem settings (after the "wizard" has run): VPI/VCI 0/35; UBR without PCR; PPPoE; LLC/snap-bridging; keep alive is checked; default gateway obtained automatically
Router settings: dynamic IP; MAC address is the spoofed address of the router cloned from my computer; DNS addresses are blank; MTU 1492
This all works fine for a few hours to a day, then in the middle o***ame or between one click and the next on a web page...the connection dies, and the whole thing has to be powered down and up.
Any thoughts on the modem/router settings? Thanks!
