What firmware version are you running? On the Xbox are you able to see the media server and videos? What happens when you try to play a video?

I am using firmware version 1.02. On the xbox360 I can see the music and videos but when I try to play them it says the connection to the computer was lost status code 53-coodf238

Check the cabling you may have a bad Ethernet cable someplace. I know these two device work quite well together. I use the DNS-321 and Xbox at home daily.

I've had this problem before. Check your cables. My answer was the cable on the back of my Xbox was just a little bit loose.
