DIR 825 --> DIR 655 --> Router question/opinions
« on: August 29, 2009, 07:36:59 PM »

Using wireless of the DIR 825 rev b and then I am hard wiring to the DIR 655 A3. The 655 has
wireless turned off and is connected directly to Cable Modem.

   This gives me stealth on all ports. Will this setup slow down my network? will it be quicker
with the 655 completly out of the loop? Please advise......

Thanks

I don't say it would at all. If your talking about intenal file transfers, just to be safe, I would connect only cat5e cables to them. I have a funny feeling that because it's a consumer device, the router's switch will slow down to the slowest link. IE: that gigabit connection you have going will only be 100Mbit if you have a regular cat5 cable connected to it and active.
