It's noted that it doesn't work in the 1.20 and 1.21 so I'll save you the hassle of trying to set one up and me trying to explain it.  Most users won't have a use for that feature but unfortunately, it's one I do rely on to work from home sometimes..

I dont believe this for a second my A1 with 1.21na on my ps3 is horrible.  Its hard wired.  It lags so bad and kicks the modem offline.  Its not even hooked up anymore.  Not even voice chat would work.  This is the last time I will ever use dlink.

This is no joke! I really don't have these problems. After reading these forums I think it could be a hardware problem. Because if it was firmware wouldn't everyone have this problem? I would be more then happy to test vpn to see if it works. I'll find a way to test it then let you know. My purpose of this thread is to help any way I can.

Didn't check my hardware version,  version 1.20 was bad had to reboot every 2 days as it would full lockup.  Version 1.21 and moved it to receive less heat from other components and I have been solid for about a week now.

VPN's work great,  they weren't working when I still had my actiontec modem in routable mode however once I bridged the modem it worked great (as there was no longer double NAT issues).

Well I singed up with ItsHidden.com for a free vpn service and it works. I was on the web watching vids on youtube and downloading from bit torrent. It was a little slow because they don't offer port forwarding and it in the netherlands but it works.

That's good to hear.  I'm supposed to get a tested replacement that is supposed to be working perfectly today.

My luck isn't that great unfortunately.  I still have issues when only trying to connect with N.  I literally delete every wireless NIC driver on my system and let Windows install one.  I am now connected on N but it's slow and I still am suffering from some serious packet loss on my laptop and Wii.  This A2 has also restarted randomly twice for no reason at all.  I'm almost dreading even attempting some Gears 2 online as a way to test it since you get penalized for quitting multiplayer matches (and I don't quit matches).

I'm --> <-- this close to switching back to a Linksys router.  No, in fact, I will switch back once I've purchased some other necessary hardware for my business.  I bought the DGL-4500 in March '09, and it worked fine for a few months.  Suddenly, one day everything lost its internet connection.

After resetting the DGL-4500, most everything is up (only one XP box can't detect the wireless network for some reason), BUT -- every time the cable modem has to be rebooted, I have to go through hell to get some machines and a range extender to detect the wireless network again.

Then, I go and upgrade the firmware to 1.21NA and made life even more difficult.

I had at least 6 years of stable service with the Linksys, and I go and switch to this P.O.S. D-Link "gaming" router.  Worst decision I ever made.
