I am a casual user experiencing significant conflict between several DCS-5030Ls and a Ubiquity Unify Long Range Access Point. Problem has stumped my local network support team. Although hardware / set up recommended by local media team, they now are stumped and cannot support DCS-5030Ls connected to Ubiquity Unify Access Point. Everything else can connect to AP, but replacement DCS-5030L cannot connect to WIFI (everything else connects easily) and after reset of Access Point, the older DCS-5030L that was working prior to reset can not longer access see the WIFI. Network team is telling me to replace the cameras (one is a year old and the other is NEW) with cameras from another manufacturer
Toplogy was recommended / installed by local media firm in Jun.2016:
- 80 MB/sec Fiberoptic service from Utililty Compamny
- Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-band router (this router replaced lower end router in Mar.2017)
- Antenna hardwired to Router with direct line of site to Antenna on Horse Barn
- Antenna in Horse Barn has clear line of site
- Barn Antenna and is hardwired to a Ubiquity Power over Ethernet box
- PoE box is hardwired to a Ubiquity Unifi Long Range Access Point.
- Access Point is centally located in the loft of 72 foot long horse barn. Signal strength is excellent. Laptop, WIFI Radio, iPad and several smart phones connect easily to the AP.
- WIFI connection to two DCS-5030Ls which are 30 feet each from AP.
Background:
Configuration above was installed Jun.2016 and worked flawlessly for 11 months. The installation was completed by a junior technician who had difficulty configuring the cameras in Jun.2016. After a few hours, he went back to his shop, spoke with senior personnel there and finished installation easily the following day.
Problem Statement:
In May.2016 one of the DCS-5030Ls had a hardware defect and was returned for RMA replacement. Since then NONE of three replacement DCS-5030Ls could be configured in this topology. DLink technical support kept saying that the replacement cameras were all defective. During the installation process of the 3rd replacement DCS-5030L, the senior DLink Technican suggested that the topology was 'too complicated' and the issue was likely a conflict with the AP. I opted to hire the local media team to come onsite and also recommended that they troubleshoot in collaboration with DLink (they did not collaborate with DLink). (Note: Since the AP has only one inbound ethernet port and NO outbound ethernet ports, the technician connected to the Barn Network via a portable switch.) After FOUR hours of troubleshooting, which included upgrade of firmware on THREE DCS-5030Ls and upgrade of firmware to the Access Point, the technician recommended replacing all of the DCS-5030L cameras since that would be cheaper in the long run that paying the local firm to continue to troubleshoot the conflict. (Big Sigh).
Is there a known conflict / setup work around to get DCS-5030Ls working with Unify AP LR? I would greatly appreciate your support.
