Hi,

I have a ASUS RT-AC87U router with firmware 3.0.0.4.380_3459 installed (latest). Recently I switched out my Asus USB-AC56 to a DWA-192.
The reason was that the ASUS USB-AC56 got disconnected from the network several times during the day. With the USB-AC56 adapter I got
connected with 867 Mbit/s and with DWA-192 1300 Mbit/s (soo a win to D-Link). D-LInk does not have this problem (probably due to Realtek chip is better supported in Win10)

However, as my connection is 100/100 and i use uTorrent (legal torrents ofcourse), I had high hopes that the DWA-192 would perform
the same speeds as ASUS. With ASUS i could download with 10-12 mb/s (almost) 100Mbit, but with DWA-192, speed is about 4-6mb/s.
I managed only 1 time to upload with 10 mb/s with the D-LINK... Why is the D-LINK so slow? I have tryed to disable QoS and everything...
is this a driver issue? or a compability issue?

I really miss my nice upload speeds on uTorrent. Asus have a clear win today. Noone else mentions this.... why?
Can a new driver fix this problem?

The weird thing is that using a web based "internet speed test" page. Both adapters delivers 100/100 Mbit, but the D-LINK
performance in torrents is very bad (atleast for me).

Anyone got a solution? Have same problem?

What driver is currently installed? In box or latest from support site?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
What PC platform are you using? x32 or x64?
Is this a PC desktop or Laptop?
Was the prior USB adapter USB 2.0 or 3.0?

How many torrents are you doing at a time?

I run 1.03b4 driver dated (2015-11-06).

I am running 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz on router. The wireless cards connects to 5 Ghz band (both D-Link and Asus).

I am running latest Windows 10 Pro with x64. It's a PC with lots of RAM and Core i5 processor.

Prior USB adapter (ASUS) was a USB 3 adapter. With ASUS i got about 10-11mb/s on USB2 but i used it mostly
on USB3 to take advantage of my fast connection. The D-LINK DWA-192 is connected to same USB3 port at the
moment (as I used before I bought dwa-192). Replacing the dwa-192 to asus usb stick, and the download speeds
are normal again.

I have tested 1 and 7 torrents. I have the same settings as with the ASUS USB-AC56. Plugging in the ASUS
stick (broadcom chipset) gives me much faster speeds on the same torrent, but I experience
the disconnect issue (that lots of other ASUS users also does, hence i bought the dwa-192).

The reason I spent almost 100 dollars (here in EU/Sweden) was to get a better adapter. The disconnect
issue is gone, hurray Realtek, but the speeds are really slow. I have been testing with downloading 50 peers
and 500 peers (atleast 10 Gigabit bandwidth available on those torrents). I get about 4-6mb/s on this adapter...
but can easly download with 10-11mb/s using asus or a cable.

I am not sure if its a compability isssue against ASUS router or drivers with torrent protocol is not as
good asus... but 4-6mb/s vs 10-11 is a huge difference, especially when you spend $100.

What security modes are you using on the main host router?

Only think I might try is to remove the driver fully and then see if you can just install the basic USB driver for the 192 with out using the installer that loads the wireless wizard. Kind of strip down the driver and see if this may help.

Doing other downloads from maybe a web site in stead of a torrent to see if the same thing happens?
