It's not. Recover  mode is a last ditch effort to see if it will load. You can see if the recover mode comes up for you. You don't have to do anything, just power off the unit and then back on and boot normally. However if you can get FW loaded using normal methods via the admin UI page, would be preferred. Just try a factory reset, manually load the FW file and then factory reset set once more if you can get the router to take the file. I would contact either the ISP or D-Link Asia and ask them if this can be loaded. Just seems odd that your unit isn't taking the file for some reason.

Hi all, I am new to this forum and from Singapore. Recently got a brand new Dir880L from Dlink service centre. Setup was easy. Router was working great but there are 2 issues yet to be resolved and I do not have the time to bring the set back to service centre.

1. I tried manually upgrading the firmware but everytime it failed to upload, no matter what browser I am using or even by wired connection. I have gave up trying (above is my FW). Any expert advices?

2. QoS Engine - device must be manually dragged to the priority boxes when it is logged on, it does not automatically stays in the boxes as before and rebooting after dragging takes 80secs each time. Any advices.

If this router was provided to you by your ISP, then you'll need to contact them for help and FW update support for this. Some ISPs develop there own FW for D-Link routers. D-Link doesn't maintain or support these routers from these ISPs.
