Hi

I recently noticed after a Windows 10 update that my network drive access to sharecentre through windows explorer had disappeared.

Tried to map network drive through 'Network' drop down but found nothing?

Anyone know what the issue is and what the update had disabled?

I can still see Media Devices---> sharecentre  & Storage---> sharecentre but nothing in Computer--->  to allow access to files.

Any help appreciated!

Tried lots of 'fixes' mentioned on the web but none work.

Does anyone else using Windows 10 have this problem?

Do this:

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off. Make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is checked.



Reboot your computer.

Try mapping a drive again. Map through Windows. Do not use any 3rd party utility to map a drive.

hmm strange. Our NAS units do not support SMB 2 which is 99% the issue with Windows 10 mapping problems. If you enabled SMB 1.0 and rebooted the computer, it should work.

Do you have another computer or phone/tablet to test connectivity to the NAS?  There shouldn't be anything to change on the NAS.

What is the exact version of Windows 10?

Yes I can connect to the files using an iMac laptop but not on the Windows 10 machine.

Ive got Windows 10 Pro
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.371]
DNS-345.
I've enabled SMB v1.0 in 10. Can map and see DNS here. I don't think 345 has 2.0 support...

This is definitely a Windows 10 issue. I've spent a lot of time looking for this issue and most of it is enabling the SNB 1.0.  There maybe some registry entries that need editing. There are a bunch of articles at support.microsoft.com on this (windows 10 v1709).

What mfr and model# router is the DNS connected too?
Any chance you have a Windows 7 PC?
