Hi,
I'm setting up my old router as a wifi extender/access point. The router is connected to the primary router via a cat 6 cable. I have reset all settings on the router. I am unable to find an option to disable DHCP, and then use the router as the extender. Is there anyway to Disable DHCP? I am currently not connected to the internet with this router. I have updated the dlink router's local ip-address, changed the ssid and wifi password. Am I required to connect the router to a working internet connection first, to then be able to disable DHCP?

Broadbandbuyer on youtube has an excellent example of setting up a Dlink router as an access point. "How to set-up a D-Link Router as an Access Point"
In this example the router is connected to the internet and DHCP is successfully disabled and the router is setup as an access point.
Many thanks for any help.
Regards, Vix.
