Extender cannot see Apple Time Capsule 5 GHz Wi-fi

I turn on the DAP-1620 as the manual says, ask it to scan networks. It sees my router (Apple Time Capsule) 2.4 GHz network , but it is not able to find the 5 GHz network. The router is an Apple Time Capsule, 802.11ae specification (product code BR826-1681-A). The DAP-1620 comes with firmware version 1.04.

Does anyone has any clue on what is going on? Could it be just a matter of upgrading the firmware?
