In addition to my DCS-2530L ( which works fine ) I now have a DCS-5030L. The D-Link app on my Android phone works fine, I can see the both cameras. My router has assigned it IP 192.168.0.36 and I can see the MAC address connected on the routers device table. Going to 192.168.0.36 with my Firefox browser the camera asks for a User Name and Password. The WiFi password on the camera is XXXXXXXX, the WiFi name on the device says DCS-5030L-DF41. Inputting these two into the fields results in no contact and a re-request for Name and Password. What is the Name I should use?. I assume the Password is correct.

I've tried lots of names like "admin" that's used by the DCS-2530L. None of them work.

The little green light on the front of the camera is on steady.
The DCS-2530L is at 192.168.0.35 and the same Firefox browser gets to it just fine.

Default name is admin.

Be sure you clear out all browser caches before trying to connect to the cameras web page.
Does a different browser work to enter the user name and PW?
Try a factory reset and setup from scratch and enter a new PW.

Which mydlink app did you use? mydlink Lite or mydlink?

The WiFi name and password is for connecting directly to the camera's wifi during setup.

The username is always admin. The password is what you created during setting the camera up on the app (not the wifi password).

Sorry, this thing has become circus. I bought a DCS-2530L ( I already have one of these that's working just fine ) from Amazon, delivered by WorldWide Distributors, and when the box arrived inside was a DCS-5030L. Upon examining the box clearly I was not the first person to get this device as there were hand written notes in some of the manuals and parts were loose and unwrapped. What the heck I gave it a go. Carefully following directions I just couldn't get it to respond to the basic things outlined in the install directions. I thought I had it once but then it stopped working. The green lite would randomly come on, then go off. I could never get to it with Firefox 65.0 or Chromium Version 68.0.3440.106. I tried all combinations of user names including "admin". It just wouldn't respond ( like the DCS-2530L).

I clearly saw it in the allocated IP table of my router. My DCS-2530L is at 192.168.0.35 and the DCS-5030L got assigned to 192.168.0.36 which I locked in. So the router assigned it an IP and I got the log in prompt in both Firefox and Chromium. But, alas it just wouldn't play ball, to anything.

So today I packed it all up and sent it back to WorldWide Distributors for a refund. When I get that I'll try ordering another DCS-2530L. Wanna guess what's the odds are I'll really get a DCS-2530L? Or something even fancier then the DCS-5030L.

I really like the way the DCS-2530L works. I just want another one.  :-((

Wow sorry about your experience. Unfortunately this seems to be a common thing with Amazon with receiving either the wrong product or an obviously used product. They allow any seller from anywhere in the world now and customers have no idea if they are getting their product from the actual company or a "distributor" which can be some small company in the middle of Europe. This is why we always tell people make sure you complain to Amazon and write that review directly to the seller. If "sellers" get a certain percentage of negatives, they can get suspended by Amazon. WorldWide seems pretty legit so possibly a return got mixed into their inventory.

Did you reset it?  When reset, it should go to factory settings.

I wanted to follow up on the process of returning the DCS-5030L. Again, the reason for the return was it was the wrong camera, it was obviously previously opened ( hand written notes in the installation manual ) and a short test indicated that it was defective. Upon return WorldWide Distributors authorized only a 50% rebate because the product had been opened. So I placed a review on the Amazon product page giving WorldWide Distributors a zero rating for performance.

A new unit should not exhibit this kind of issue. That unit you had should have been returned to D-Link by that Distributor.
