Minidlna Configuration
« on: June 28, 2020, 04:50:20 PM »

Hi,

I was wondering if you are able to access the minidlna.conf file to change the settings of the Dlna server?  I'm having a few issues with scanning media on my drive (didn't have issues with my old router (tplink archer c7 running ddwrt) and want to adjust the settings to try and correct. It seems its having issues scanning some images, but I don't want images scanned as I'm only interested in videos.

Link>Welcome!

  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

I don't think you can configure the scan for specific file types, it scan all files.

What happens if you remove these files from the storage device. Place them some were else or on a different storage device.

I'm running the latest firmware and I'm in Australia.  I'll remove those images but would still prefer not to scan images at all.
DIR-1960 HW:A1 FW:1.03

This is one of the options you can use in minidlna.conf

media_dir
             Path to the directory containing the media files the minidlna server should share.
             Use this option several times if you have more than one directory to share. To
             restrict a path to one specific media type, you can use the following syntax: the
             letter ‘A’, ‘V’ or ‘P’, followed by a comma (‘,’) followed by the path. The meaning
             of the first letter is as follows:
                   ·   ‘A’ for audio files;
                   ·   ‘V’ for video files;
                   ·   ‘P’ for image files.
             For example, if you want to include only video files located under the
             /opt/media/videos directory, you would use media_dir=V,/opt/media/videos.

Something to contact your regional D-Link support office about:
Link> Tech Support Contact Information
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Good Luck.
