DIR-1960 SNMP access
« on: October 04, 2020, 09:13:11 PM »

Port 161 is not open on this device and there is no obvious GUI option to enable SNMP. However, TCP port 1 (TCP multiplexor) is open but filtered. It is possible that SNMP can be reached via the multiplexor if there is a way to satisfy the filter rules for the port.  Does anyone know how to use TCPMUX on the DIR-1960 or if there is another way to get SNMP access?

FWIW, I *have* used chat to ask this question but the rep didn't seem to understand how SNMP works. He kept telling me to use port forwarding or to solve the problem by configuring my OS.

Looking at datasheet and manual looks like the DIR-1960 does not support SNMP.

"Support" is ambiguous. I'm sure the router runs Linux internally (everybody does) which means it *could* provide SNMP. What does it provide on multiplexor port 1?
