Switching off IR emitters?
« on: April 08, 2022, 01:34:11 PM »

I use a separate IR illuminator. I need to turn off the built in IR. I tried covering them with electrical tape but I can't seem to cover all of them. Does anybody have a solution? I want to use night mode without turning on the built in IR illuminators.

Unforunately you cannot turn the IR lights off (I wish they would put the option back in the gen 2 mydlink cameras).

To turn off the built-in IR illuminators, you can check your device's settings for an option to disable them, usually in the night vision or IR settings. If there's no setting to turn them off, consider using a black piece of tape or a solid cover to block the IR LEDs completely. Alternatively, using an external IR filter might help block out the built-in IR while using your separate illuminator. If these options don’t work, check the manual for your specific device for additional settings.
