Rebuilds ALL the time
« on: September 04, 2009, 12:23:33 PM »

I have a DNS-323 that the drive lights blink all the time. It has 2 750GB Seagate drives (supported drives) in a mirror. The status says

"The RAID volume is synchronizing now. Please wait for 8543.6 minute(s)"

That is 7 days!! I only have 200GB of data on it.

I have firmware 1.07.

How do I fix this? Do I really have to wait 7 days to rebuild? I can erase the whole thing and copy all my data back in about 20 minutes!

Thanks!

I got a speedy email response from D-Link tech support. They suggested that I reset to factory defaults and it worked!

I had to recreate my shares and users and groups and basically set it up from scratch but no data was lost.

Thanks D-Link!

Good to know if that ever happens.  :)  I've reset to defaults in the past and not lost any data, though I had my doubts the first time I did it. :)
