How do I reformat my drives?
« on: September 21, 2009, 11:51:13 PM »

I want to reformat the drives in my DNS-323. I don't need the data that's on them.

The only thing I can find that looks relevant is in "Tools | RAID". However, I currently have a RAID 1 configuration and, when I use the "Set RAID Type and Re-Format" command, setting it to RAID 1 again, it keeps all the existing data (after syncing for a few hours).

So, how can I get a clean reformat (there *may* have been a virus on them) and set them back to RAID 1?

turn off unit
take out one drive
turn on unit
log to web ui
goto tools
raid
then format the drive left on the bay
do the same for the other one
