This router's pissing me off...
« on: September 05, 2009, 09:57:10 AM »

I've been tracking the updates on this forum and I was hoping that firmware 1.21NA would resolve the many past problems that everyone's having.

The new firmware has resolve some, but it is still lacking and I am getting very frustrated that this high-dollar router sucks.

I don't have frequent lockups or disconnects any more, now the router will just not even respond when it's past a certain speed that it needs to output (past 25Mbit down / 1.5 Mbit up).

Does anyone have a solution to this?

If its that bad why haven't you telephoned d-link customer support directly?  Look I don't mean any offense but some of these posts make me want to bang my head on the desk.  You have to contact them directly if you wish to resolve a problem like this.  I had problems with my a1 and after contacting one of their reps I received a new a2 replacement which will never be flashed beyond 1.16b3 until any newer firmware has been proven in the field for several months.

I've tried emailing them, they told me to call.  I called, held the phone for 40 minutes and got tired of waiting so I hung up.  Then I gave it a few weeks, new firmware 1.21NA came out, everything worked out fine for a couple days and now... it's pissing me off.  I like the router, I just hate their CS, I find the open-source community more helpful than companies 99.9% of the time.

Well I'd try to call them one more time and if they don't answer then file a bbb complaint.  Everybody who has filed one gets personalized attention very quickly.  If you're as unhappy as you say you are then file one and they will contact you and either offer you a refund or exchange.  There's already several huge threads attesting to this fact.
