I have a A2 and its 1.12 firmware and all of a sudden yesterday it kept turning on and off so i unplugged it today same thing i disconnected it and plugged it back in and it worked fine then it starts turning on and off and i cant use the 2 buttons on the LED screen is that considered a lock up? and if i leave it connected it will just keep turning off and on

How new is it and can you take it back to the vendor for a refund?  Otherwise call d-link tech support and tell them what is happening and perhaps they'll send u a replacement router.

i have like a week with it it i bought it from New egg on the display it says hardware version a2 firmware 1.12 and yea it just keeps turning off and on every couple of seconds

same thing happened to me..Ive just received the router today..A2 version, 1.12 F/W
Can anybody tell me what is wrong with the router? should I degrade the F/W to 1.02, which has been said stable?

F/W 1.10 and above CANNOT be downgraded to 1.02.

My a2 also shipped with 1.12 which is known for its broken gaming rules.  I flashed to 1.16 then to 1.15 and then went back down to 1.12 and back up to 1.16 which is the next threshold for not being able to roll back the fw.  If I were you I'd return the router for a refund and look at something else not sporting the ubicom cpu.  Others say the linksys wrt330n which also uses the ubicom cpu doesn't have any issues but I wouldn't take any chances.  I still want to attach j class hobby motors to the a1 and see how high I can make it fly.

No, return it if you want to.  All A2's have been shipping with 1.12.  So, that's normal, and nothing is wrong with it.  If you want to try 1.15 you can.  Just don't go above that, and you will be fine.

@ Puff:  Please, it has NOTHING to do with the CPU.  The hardware is fine, it however is the coding for the FW.  It's BAD.  If it was fine, the hardware would be functioning properly.  Please stop talking out of your ass.  It would do the forum a whole lot of good.

netgear has just released a fantastic router, NETGEAR WNDR3700 RangeMax, and it got high marks on smallnetbuilder.

I am selling all my d-links on ebay and buying something that works, there is no reason why we have to browse forums and discuss how to make this router work well, when it should do it to start with.

If they knew about the issue it could have been corrected by now, its something terribly wrong and they are just stalling you till your warranty wears out, and then they will release revision B1 which finally corrects the problems.
