Wifi N slow with DWA-142 usb connection

I'm only seening about 3 MB/sec file transfers, though my signal strength is great. I'm using WPA security, and have the router set for only N (no g or b), everything else is set to default. The connection utility shows 270 or so mbp/s. The other computer I'm trying to transfer files to is on a DWA-142 usb.

Shouldn't I be getting faster file transfers, say twice that speed?
