Motorola SB6120 + DIR-655 drop connection help!
« on: May 18, 2009, 11:26:11 AM »

Motorola SB6120 + DIR-655 drop connection every hour, even I use wired LAN network. I have to restart router manually to get it work, Firmware is 1.31 already. The modem itself is fine if I just connect modem to my computer. DIR-655 works great also if I connect to Motorola SB5101, no connection drop. Any solution here?

There have been some issues like this with Motorola in the past. I suggest you search the 655 thread for motorola for the details.

I am having an issue with the DIR-655 and the Motorola SB6120 as well. Both work fine independently of each other, router working fine with older modem, SB6120 working fine when connected directly to my computer.  Any help on what to try or check or settings to update? Please help.

Hi,

Make sure your SB6120 has the 1.0.1.7 firmware...your ISP should push that out to your 6120 modem.

I'm running a Motorola SB6120 (Firmware Build Time: Apr 22 2009 12:15:22) and a DIR-655 (Firmware 1.11) and haven't had a single dropped connection.  I suspect that your problems may be due to firmware 1.31 on the DIR-655.
