DIR-625 SharePort downstream?
« on: October 12, 2009, 08:26:42 PM »

I'm running a DIR-625 C2 Firmware 3.08 that's downstream of our gateway (Cable Modem > Gateway > GBE Switch > Patch > DIR-625).  Basically it's a glorified AP with SharePort enabled (Everything but the radio is turned off on the DIR-625).  The computers that would like to use the SharePort devices are all patched into the GBE switch either right out of the wall or into switches in their own room.

I have an Epson R280 printer plugged into the DIR-625 directly and none of the computers on the LAN can see it.  I've tried SharePort 1.15.9 as well as SX Virtual Link 33a323 with no luck.  What can I do to troubleshoot this?

Edit: Client machines I tested on were WinXP SP3, Win Vista Ultimate SP2, Win7 RC1

My guess is the Shareport software is looking at the wrong device/ip address. If it uses the default gateway IP address to find the Shareport device its looking at your gateway device and not the DIR-625.
